Silver Valley Solutions LLC (“we”, “our”, or “us”) operates the US Citizenship Test 128 – CivicsPro mobile application and the website uscivicstest.us (collectively, the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what information the Service collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We do not sell your information and we do not use it for advertising.

Information We Collect

Information you provide

You do not need an account to use the app. We only receive your name, email address, or message when you choose to contact us:

In-app Contact Us form: the subject and message you write, your email address if you choose to give it (optional), and basic technical details that help us answer (app version, device operating system and its version, and the screen you were on). The message is delivered to us by email through FormSubmit.
Website contact form: your name, email address, the topic you choose, and your message.

Microphone and speech recognition

The app uses the microphone only while you practice speaking (the mock interview and reading practice). The app does not record, store, or send your audio to our servers. Your speech is turned into text by your device’s speech recognition service — Apple Speech Recognition on iOS and Google speech recognition on Android. Depending on your device and settings, Apple or Google may process the audio on their own servers, under their privacy policies. The app keeps the recognized text on your device so it can show you what it heard.

Photo library

Used only if you choose to save or share a study result image. We do not read your photos.

Usage data (analytics)

We use PostHog, a product-analytics service, to understand how the app is used and to improve it. The app sends events such as starting a study session, finishing a mock interview, opening the upgrade screen, or completing a purchase, together with a random identifier created by the app, the app version, platform (iOS or Android), and device and app language. This identifier is not linked to your name, email, Apple ID or Google account, and it is not used to track you across other apps or websites. Like any internet service, PostHog receives your IP address when the app sends an event and uses it to estimate an approximate location (city, region and country). We do not collect your precise location, contacts, or the content of your study answers.

Purchases

Payments are handled entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play); we never see your payment details. RevenueCat, our purchase-management service, receives an anonymous app-generated purchase identifier, the purchase receipt from the store, the product you bought, and basic device and app details, so it can unlock Pro on your device. On iOS, the app also sends Apple’s Search Ads attribution token to RevenueCat so we can tell whether an install came from an Apple Ads campaign.

Invite codes

If you create or redeem an invite code, our invite service (hosted on Supabase) stores the code, your anonymous purchase identifier, and a salted one-way hash of your IP address that we use only to prevent abuse. It then asks RevenueCat to grant the free Pro days.

Answers that depend on where you live

The app downloads public data files from data.uscivicstest.us (for example, current senators and representatives). Your ZIP code and state are looked up on your device and are not sent to us.

We use these providers to run the Service. They process data on our behalf and under their own privacy policies:

Apple App Store and Google Play: app distribution and payment processing.
RevenueCat: purchase management (revenuecat.com/privacy).
PostHog: product analytics (posthog.com/privacy).
Supabase: hosts our invite-code service (supabase.com/privacy).
FormSubmit: delivers in-app Contact Us messages to our inbox (formsubmit.co).
Apple and Google speech recognition: turn your spoken answers into text during practice.
Expo (Expo Inc.): delivers app updates.
WordPress.com (Automattic) and Netlify: host this website, go.uscivicstest.us links, and the public data files.
Amazon.com and TikTok Shop: our physical flashcards are sold there, under their own privacy policies.

Data Storage and Security

Your study progress and app settings stay on your device. All data the app sends is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). We keep contact messages only as long as needed to answer you.

Children’s Privacy

Our Service is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Your Choices and Rights

Ask us for a copy of, or deletion of, any personal data we hold about you, including contact messages, analytics events, and invite-code records. Email us at info@uscivicstest.us.
Turn off microphone, speech recognition, or photo access at any time in your device’s Settings.
Deleting the app removes your study progress and the app’s random analytics identifier from your device.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
